Grad 1995!

Nazma & Petra have been friends since they met in Grade 9 at their junior high school. "Nazma" means star in Farsi, and she truly is. Nazma is a study in constrasts between what she "gets" and what she doesn't.  To elaborate, Nazma is a brilliant law student, finishing her articles at a large law firm in Vancouver this summer, and yet she regularly hides behind a pillow during scary movies and always takes a few extra seconds to get the naughty jokes.  Kind, considerate, and endearing, its no wonder that she's the next to get married--she's making Lloyd a lucky man on September 18, 2004

Cheryl & Petra have been friends since Grade 9 when they met in Sunday school, but their friendship solidified throughout Grades 11 & 12 (including a bonding period in Biology 12 over a fetal pig named Mabel).  Cheryl is the one person Petra knows who will laugh, rather than cringe when shark cartilage accidently goes flying through the lab, and she is currently working in a research lab at VGH, finding a cure for Parkinson's.  Cheryl is also the one person Petra knows who is just as accident-prone as herself.  You should see the mess they leave behind when they try to bake in the same kitchen.  Yikes!

Chillin'

Krystal has been in Petra's life for a long time.  3 months and a bit after Petra was born, her cousin came into the world.  Krystal was always the "good one"--tidy, pink, pretty, toys and clothing in good repair.  Petra...well, lets just say she always had scabs on her knees.  At family gatherings, the phrase "why can't you be more like your cousin " was despairingly directed at Petra on more than occasion. Even when both girls were involved in the same crime, like picking stucco off their grandmother's balcony wall, Petra was blamed.  "...because you're older and should know better..." was the given reason.  As the years went by, however, the girls became more than cousins, especially through their university years. They've shared road trips and pizza nights, shopping expeditions and phone commiserations.  As friends, and as cousins, they have the luxury of knowing that no matter what happens, they'll always be a part of the other's life.

Stagette fun!

Petra's stag-ette started with a yummy dinner at Monk's Bistro and included a bit of fun with a large stag party there at the same time.  The group of girls, along with Petra's new man "Mr. Perfect" (note the snappy attire!), continued down to Vanier Park to watch the fireworks, and then went back to Josie & Cheryl's for some girl talk and nosh.  She even kept the veil on her head all night!
