| How Aaron Spends A Sunday |
Aaron's Story
Aaron was born in Ladner in 1973, but moved to Delta
at the age of 4 where he spent the next 24 years of his life. He received a biology degree from UBC in 1998
and is currently working for VanCity Credit Union as senior financial analyst in their business department in downtown Vancouver.
(Petra has been known to describe this as "gimme-money-number-thinking-blahblahblah.")
Aaron is a study in contrasts,
wearing a shirt and tie in the working day, yet mud and bike oil (over armor) at every other available
opportunity.

Petra's Story
Petra was born
in Victoria in 1978 and moved several times
(including a few years spent in Africa) before finishing high school in Richmond. She received a biology degree from UBC in 2000 and an education degree in 2001. She is currently
working as a science teacher at Windermere Secondary. Petra's interests are varied, and include
reading, various crafts, pottery, and teasing Aaron. Although Aaron feels that most of Petra's time is spent bugging him, much
of her time is actually taken up by her job.
How We Met and Fell in Love...

| It started with a call...and ended with a ring! |
On a boring eveing, Petra was on the internet when up popped a message
from a stranger. She and he whiled away several hours with idle conversation, and spent the next few weeks chatting online,
both thrilled to meet a new friend with so many shared experiences. Both were half-Caucasian, half-Asian. Both
had taken the same biology courses at UBC. Both were known on sight by the coffee lady in
the student union building. Petra had fallen out a window as a child; Aaron had fallen over a fence as an adult.
Petra had cut her hair when she was 3; Aaron had grown his extremely long at 23. Petra and Aaron continued to chat,
both on line, and on the phone. Finally, they decided to meet for (what else) coffee on September 6, 1999.
Romance grew, and in January 2002, they moved into their own apartment
in Vancouver. Blending two lives into one lifestyle wasn't always the easiest. Petra's schedule was full, and
Aaron spent long hours at work. July 4, 2003 was an evening like any other, with Aaron coming home late from work, and
Petra waiting less than patiently for dinner. When Aaron came in the door, he announced that he wanted to talk, but
Petra wasn't about to listen. It wasn't until Aaron pinned her down by sitting on her chest that Petra noticed
how serious Aaron seemed. It turned out that Aaron was late, because he had to stop at the jeweller's on the way home.
On July 4, 2003, Aaron had his last independence day.
